Facetious, I know, but hey, I got through the book. I'd say further, among many other attributes, that both novels offer nice examples of viable political fiction, contrary to certain claims. And the experience was generally positive. I can imagine that as a book 2666 would present a huge challenge to me, because it's very testing in places. No, I didn't buy 2,666 Brussels sprouts. When I read it, I will be completely absorbed by it. This is as good a notion as any when thinking about Roberto Bolaño's monstrous novel 2666.
